Christine Nicholls is senior lecturer in Australian Studies at Flinders University, South Australia, and visiting Professor of Australian Studies at the University of Tokyo. She is one of the world's foremost experts in Aboriginal art and tradition, and has spent much time living among the Western Desert peoples.
