Midnight in Sicily, Robb's first book, published in 1996, gained him many admirers around the world. Its nominal subject is the role of the mafia of Sicily and Naples in the corruption of the Italian state. However, based on Robb's many years spent living in southern Italy, the book explores the region's society and culture, including its art, literature, food and, of course, history. The book has been published in over a dozen countries, and is now reissued here with a new cover and introduction.
